After a rather damp summer, but hugely successful Prime Ministerial visit the Southeast Asia where our year-long ASEAN Insight campaign was launched, we have an exciting programme of events lined up.

Thailand Business Breakfast

Friday 4 September, Time: 8:00 - 10:00

Join the Thai Ambassador to the UK and Greg Watkins, Executive Director of the British Chamber of Commerce  in Thailand BCCT at this business breakfast kindly hosted by the Energy Industries Council.

The event with update you on the Thai economy, the business environment and opportunities in Thailand.

Vietnam Economic Forum

Thursday 10 September, Time: 8:30 - 13:00

Vietnam is a country that is still on the rise, with a vibrant young population and an expanding middle class.

 And that means opportunity for Britain, and British businesses..."  Prime Minister David Cameronon his first official visit to Viet Nam 29 Jul 2015

As part of the Vietnam Discovery Week the UK-ASEAN Business Council is excited to be part of the hastily organised Vietnam Economic Forum. The Forum takes advantage of a stellar Ministerial-led Vietnamese business delegation visiting the UK to highlight Vietnam’s remarkable economic success story. 

 Speakers confirmed include the Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK; Vietnam’s Minister of Planning and Investment; Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade; Minister of Quang Ninh Province; the UK Trade Envoy to Vietnam - Lord Puttnam; and the CEO of Vietnam’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry. There is also a unique opportunity to engage with the accompanying Vietnamese business delegation from across a number of sectors that can be seen here.

Supporting Low Carbon Infrastructure Development in Myanmar Report Launch

Monday 28 September, Time: 15:00 - 17:00

British Expertise, 10 Grosvenor Gardens, London

The UK-ASEAN Business Council is delighted to highlight this event that explores the findings of an important scoping report on the low carbon infrastructure development in Myanmar. The event will include an overview and discussion of the Smart Cities Working Group delegation’s visit and findings, followed by a panel discussion on the scope for a green and sustainable approach to infrastructure development in Myanmar.
