- London 2012 Business Support Initiatives Announced
The London 2012 organising committee has announced a new initiative to help businesses source information on working with the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
A new dedicated section on the London 2012 website has been launched, which offers the latest news on the Games and a free registration service which allows businesses to receive regular email updates.
Other features of the new business section include articles on issues of interest to commercial organisations, the publication of tender documents, and key appointments

London 2012 expects to have around 7,000 direct contracts which, together with its suppliers, will form supply chains of around 75,000 opportunities. Opportunities to become part of the supply chain for the London 2012 programme will be awarded by both the ODA and LOCOG through the Business Network. The London Development Agency will be letting contracts for the transformation of the Olympic Park after the Games.
- Businesses urged to innovate
BRITISH businesses are being encouraged to come up with innovative ideas for the running of the 2012 Olympic Games as part of a new scheme that will showcase industry in this country. London SciTech Challenges has invited firms to solve "innovation gaps" created by the challenge of hosting the Games.
